I offer my strongest recommendation for John Danko and his carpentry services. He is technically superb and also a really great human. John has done a variety of projects in our home including:

• Basement facelift with new flooring, trim, windows, and a custom entertainment center

• Converting carpeted stairs to hardwood

• Replacing all interior door jams, doors, and trims

• Replacing trim throughout the remainder of the home

• Turning a drywall box around a newly installed in electric fireplace into a beautiful and functional fireplace

Here is why I enjoy having him work in our home: He is thoughtful and diligent in his work. He is creative in helping design solutions for homeowners. He doesn’t over-promise and under-deliver like so many others. He is honest about what he can do and how quickly and what the expected cost is for the project; he is reliable and shows up when he says he will and stays until he finished the project. He leaves a clean and orderly space at the end of each work day. When he inevitably encounters road blocks in a project, he is open and honest about the problem. He is also an excellent problem solver and can present possible solutions with a true representation of the downstream effects, even those out of his scope of work so the homeowner can prepare accordingly. I also appreciate that he doesn’t make assumptions about homeowner desires. If there an unexpected decision to be made during the course of a project, he will stop and ask rather than just assume he knows what we want. He won’t take shortcuts to line his pockets or save time. He is a true craftsman - his work is beautiful. I wouldn’t want anyone else doing carpentry work in our home; anyone who uses John Danko carpentry is in for a real treat.
